Neil Isaac “F1ex” Perez, otherwise known to his followers as F1ex Gaming on Facebook, says he will give it his all and will give their supporters and fans of the game alike an entertaining match when he and his current team Ultimate EPro go to battle against his former team RTL Esports in the group stage of the 3rd Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) Philippines National Championship next week.

The Nexplay talent, who notably parted ways with RTL Esports along with teammate John Benedict “JaBen” Julio, provided Esports Inquirer details behind the break-up a little over a month ago in an exclusive interview. He also shared about his motivation ahead of the tournament as it is the highest level of competition in the country’s CODM scene.

“The original lineup of RTL Legacy was brought back along with my cousin and long-time teammate Ken “Kensh1” Ortiz because the management saw the original core group’s chemistry was much more cohesive than when I and JaBen were on the team. So when they decided to bring back the old lineup along with Kensh1, JaBen, and I thought we could not participate in Worlds anymore because we had no team at that point in time. But then ULT (Ultimate EPro) offered us a chance once again and our old teammates AJ “Eiji” Agbing and Railey “Yobabs” Abrenica decided to join with me and JaBen. Then I recruited some good players in Gian “Yato” Socao and Martin “Tin” Yap who were the ace player/captain of their former teams to complete ULT,” he said.

“We’re much more motivated now not because of our past with RTL but for ourselves because of what’s at stake (a slot at the Southeast Asian Regional Qualifier)  and because we long awaited for this moment to play at the game’s highest level, and we will definitely not waste this opportunity in front of us,” F1ex added.

Moreover, F1ex pointed out that despite what happened, they remained on good terms with RTL with no harsh feelings emitted, citing he and Jaben respected the organization’s decision.

“Hindi naman po kami galit sa RTL, okay lang samin ni JaBen. We respect their decision kasi ginawa lang nila kung ano sa tingin makakabuti sa team nila. Gigil lang po kami manalo, and wala namang mangyayari kung iisipin pa namin yun. Ginawa nalang naming motivation yung mga nangyayari para mag improve pa kami lalo.”

When asked about looking forward to next week’s matches, he chose not to comment much on the said matter.

“No comment po, tahimik lang kami. Baka ma-karma po kasi. Hayaan na namin laro namin magsalita para samin. We’ll work hard in silence and let just our success be the noise,” F1ex said in an ending statement.
