Bren Makes Perfect Run At VCT SEA Regionals; Oasis Gaming, Galaxy Racers Fail To Make Playoffs
Bren Esports achieved a perfect run in the group stages of the VCT SEA Regionals. Meanwhile, Oasis Gaming and Galaxy Racer (GXR) failed to make the playoffs as both finished last in their respective groups.
After laying low for a while, Bren’s FPS engine turned on as they showed the SEA region why they dominated the Philippines. They commanded their way into the playoffs by going 6-0 in the group stages.
On the other hand, GXR had a really tough time in groups. The veteran prowess of Enrico “Ching” Perez, Carlo “Karl” Ocampo, and Ronard “Yohann” Tecson came up short in Group C.
With their roster considered by many to be at par with Bren, they struggled with coordination and cohesiveness whilst facing X10 Esports, BOOM Esports, and Team Big BAAM.
Meanwhile, the 2-month roster of Oasis Gaming ran out of magic as they fought against Alter Ego, CERBERUS Esports, and UwU. They could’ve qualified for the playoffs if they went 2-0 against UwU instead of a tie 1-1.
Accompanying Bren in the playoffs are Team Big BAAM, FULL SENSE, CERBERUS Esports, Alter Ego, BOOM Esports, Paper Rex, and CBT Gaming.
Bren would be facing off against CERBERUS in the upper bracket quarterfinals. The playoffs start on August 19-22, 2021.
