The final piece of the Filipino x Indonesian BOOM Dota 2 roster has been found.

Justine Ryan Evangelista “Tino” Grimaldo recently joined BOOM Esports as the final player for their Dota 2 roster. BOOM announced Tino’s arrival on their official social media accounts.

“I was kinda shocked at first because I never thought they would consider me but I’m glad they did. It’s a huge opportunity and challenge at the same time. My teammates are like the best of the best, [including] our coach Mushi. I’m probably the most unexpected pick but I don’t wanna pass up on the opportunity, pressure will always be there, better face it right now,” Tino revealed when asked about thoughts on repping BOOM.

With the addition of Tino, the BOOM Esports Dota 2 roster now looks like this:

  • Justine Ryan Evangelista “Tino” Grimaldo
  • Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer
  • Saieful “Fbz” Ilham
  • Timothy “Tims” Randrup
  • Rolen Andrei Gabriel “Skem” Ong

As the team’s captain, Skem thinks that Tino currently has a unique playstyle that would suit the team.

“We decided to pick up Tino [because] we think he has his own unique playstyle that suits us,” Skem expressed.

When asked about what do Pinoys bring to the table, besides the obvious talent, Skem thinks having both Filipinos and Indonesians on the roster would benefit BOOM.

“It’s no secret that Filipinos are mad crazy about Dota2, and so [do] Indonesians. Expanding our reach to the PH scene will open up opportunities [for BOOM],” Skem stated. “I can’t say how long [this roster will last], and there should be no expected time about it, [but] our mindset is until we can qualify to TI, and if players still want to play together, then maybe [this roster will exist for] more years [to come].”

So far, BOOM Esports has been dominant in offseason tournaments as they recently won the BTS Pro Series Season 9: Southeast Asia after sweeping Polaris Esports 3-0 in the grand finals.
