Filipinos hold spotlight in the CODM Garena Masters Playoffs
The Six (6) Philippine teams in contention are locked in and ready to take the challenge as the first-ever Garena Masters reaches its climax this Saturday, March 12.
After a grueling eight-day slate of group stage matches, Garena CODM officially released the playoff bracket for CODM Garena Masters following a live draw reveal on its Facebook page.
The draw pool contained the eight qualifying teams in total, taking the top two teams per group. A single team each from Malaysia and Singapore round out the 8-team playoff matchup, joining the aforementioned Filipinos.
The 2020 Garena Champions and former ‘Kings of Garena’ Smart Omega will face Malaysian Champions SEM9 in the first quarterfinal round, followed by an all-Filipino matchup between rising star teams M420 LowKings and Aguila Esports in the second quarterfinal.
Eastern CODM World Champions Blacklist International Ultimate will then battle fellow Filipino team C8 United in the third quarterfinal while 2021 Kings of Garena ALMGHTY from Singapore will duke it out with another C8 team and darkhorse of the tournament in C8 Legacy in the fourth quarterfinal.
Garena Masters will be played in a best of 5, double-elimination format. It has a prize pool of 25,000 USD with the champion taking home the lion’s share of 10,000 USD (approximately 500,000 pesos).
