Fortnite Removes Building Mechanic For New Chapter
Fortnite has removed one of its iconic game mechanics, the building mechanic, for its latest chapter this season.
For Chapter 3 Season 2: Resistance, Fortnite temporarily removed the building mechanic and replaced it with an Overshield on top of a player’s Shield and Health.
“Building has been wiped out! To help maintain cover, you now have an Overshield on top of your Shield and Health. The Overshield is your first line of defense: before your Shield and Health take a hit, it’s your Overshield that’ll crack,” Fortnite revealed.
The building mechanic in Fortnite was an integral part of any player’s defense and its loss may be detrimental to some. In order to remedy this, the Overshield replacement will become the player’s first line of defense and will recover if ever it goes all the way down to 0.
Besides this massive mechanic change in Fortnite, the new chapter was accompanied by movement upgrades, turrets, new, returning, and unvaulted weapons, a healing item for vehicles, and, as usual, a new battle pass.
