Can Anybody Stop Blacklist International Ultimate?
Can anybody stop Blacklist International Ultimate? That has been a lingering question for a while now as teams are trying to figure out and decode the key to defeating and dethroning the team.
The answer to that question seems to be no as of the moment as Blacklist defeated DG Esports of Indonesia via a reverse sweep 3-2 to secure the CODM Garena Invitational 2022 championship last night, April 3 Sunday.
The squad backed by Tier One Entertainment did it the hard way too, bucking an early series loss 2-3 in the first series as DG forced a remake and a second series in the grand final.
Blacklist went back and forth with DG in the first series. They won Hardpoint at Firing Range 150-125, lost Search and Destroy at Standoff 3-6, and won again in Domination at Raid 150-87. DG then fought back to win Hardpoint at Takeoff 150-63 to set up a game 5. Blacklist lost a heartbreaking 5-6 Search and Destroy game at Summit as the Indonesians forced a bracket reset.
The bracket reset was even tougher for the Filipinos, losing the first two games in Hardpoint at Firing Range 60-150 and Search and Destroy at Raid 4-6. However, Blacklist seemed to have found and flipped the switch right there and then, cruising to win 3 straight games in Domination at Standoff 150-118, Hardpoint at Takeoff 150-88, and Search and Destroy at Summit 6-4 to complete the reverse sweep.
With this championship victory, Blacklist will take home 14,000 USD (approximately 750,000 PHP) in the 40,000 USD prize pool in the pros division. This marks the team’s third straight international championship and its 5th overall in the last 9 months.
