Capcom Releases Street Fighter V Gameplay Trailer
After months of speculation, Capcom revealed to the world the first gameplay footage of Street Fighter V, along with the announcement that the game will be exclusive to Playstation 4 and PC only.
Does this mean that Xbox owners will miss out on the latest version of the Street Fighter franchise? According to Sony Vice President Adam Boyes, the answer is an emphatic yes. The PlayStation exec states that the legendary fighting franchise will only be on one home platform — the PlayStation 4.
By this announcement, many are speculating that Sony is currently helping Capcom with much of the development of the game, which in turn allowed Sony to get the exclusive rights to Street Fighter V. From the brief gameplay trailer that was given to the public, one can deduce much of what’s in store. The graphics have improved to take advantage of the next gen consoles as we are shown two veteran world warriors, Ryu and Chun-Li. The video tells us that this isn’t going to be your father’s Street Fighter.
Ryu’s Denjin Hadoken returns as he uses it in the fight, while Chun-Li’s arsenal of moves have been retained. However, one of the bigger changes shown in the video is that Capcom is now introducing Stage breaks like the Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur and Tekken franchises.
While much of the video is still speculation, it has the Street Fighter community excited to see the next installment of the franchise. Will the new addition hold up the past? Only time will tell. Till then “Go Home and be a Family Man… Err.. Person”. Keep hitting them buttons!
