SIBOL Women’s Wild Rift Goes Undefeated in 31st SEA Games Debut with 4-0 Run
SIBOL Women’s Wild Rift went on an undefeated 4-0 run in their debut at the 31st Southeast Asian Games.
The Women’s League of Legends: Wild Rift tournament at the 31st SEA Games features 5 countries (Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, and Laos). The group stage is in a best-0f-1, single round-robin format.
Our Filipina representatives first faced off against the representatives of Thailand with a team composition drafted with sheer confidence. They couldn’t have asked for a better start to their campaign when they defeated Thailand with a staggering 16K+ gold lead.

For Game 2, they stomped Singapore with ease. They entered the stage in good spirits, which was evident with Angel Danica “Angelailaila” Lozada’s cartwheel entrance. The entire team brought out their absolute best too—Giana Joanne “Jeeya” Llanes had a 100% Kill Participation rate on Yuumi, Charize Joyed “Yugen” Doble’s Vayne did a triple kill that resulted in an ace, Christine “Rayray” Natividad’s Galio ultimate setups stalled the enemy team during team fights, Rose Ann Marie “Hell Girl” Robles on Irelia dismantled their enemies from the backline, and Angelailaila on Xin Zhao did her job fantastically as a primary engage.
The Grind Sky Eris roster simply continued to have fun as they outclassed Laos on Game 3. From the draft to the skirmishes, they perfectly read the opposition like a children’s book. The constant harassment of the enemy dragon lane provided them with a massive breathing room early in the match. They snowballed so hard that the game concluded in just less than 13 minutes.
The Filipina squad capped off a fantastic opening day with yet another win against Vietnam. With nothing standing in their way, the team simply stepped on the gas and never let go. They gave life to the much-theorycrafted dragon lane duo of Nasus (Jeeya) and Senna (Yugen) and successfully pulled it off. With that said, they ended the game 20-4 as they gave Vietnam no chances at all.
In one of their post-match interviews, Angelailaila stated that they were just enjoying the game and had been looking forward to the SEA Games since last year.
With a clean record of 4-0, the SIBOL Women’s Wild Rift team leads the group stage, with host-country Vietnam at second while Singapore is at third. They will be facing Thailand yet again in the semifinal playoffs to get a chance at the gold medal match.
