The SIBOL Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) representatives dominated their group as they secured a flawless record at the 31st SEA Games.

The SIBOL roster is made up of Blacklist International’s Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario, Kyle Dominic “Dominic.” B. Soto, Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales, Salic “Hadji” Imam, Russel Aaron “Eyon” Usi, Dexter Louise “DEX STAR” C. Alaba, Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani, and Krisstoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza (Coach).

The Filipino representatives were immediately tested as their first match was against the combined forces of TODAK and Geek Fam from Malaysia. They almost lost their first game but were able to force a comeback via a crucial lord steal by Wise that lead to a siege that ended the game. The second game’s intensity only went up as both teams went for each other’s bases. Fortunately, the UBE strat prevailed as they wiped out Malaysia one last time before the game went to SIBOL’s hands.

Their second matchup was against Nightmare Esports from Laos. Similar to their first game against Malaysia, they initially had trouble for the first few minutes of Game 1 before turning the tide in their favor. By Game 2, SIBOL had already figured out the Laos playstyle and thus were able to close the series out in style. A new UBE was served too – it featured a double fighter composition with Wise on Akai, OhMyV33NUS on Estes, Owl on Grock, Hadji on Xavier, Dominic on Pacquito, and a sixth-man opponent who was unlucky enough to get trapped.

SIBOL simply took care of Myanmar with ease come their matchup. In Game 1, nothing stood in their way, not even Myanmar’s Khant Kyaw “OHMYJ3NNIE” Zay. SIBOL swiftly ended the game in 14 minutes and 4 seconds with an interesting final kill score of 14-4. In Game 2, they swapped Eyon in place of Hadji for a spicy shakeup. It looked like a loss for the Filipino squad until they were able to force a comeback in the late game through a final lord take that resulted in a base siege.

With a flawless record, the Philippines is currently on top of the Group A standings with 9 points. As such, they have secured a playoff berth where they will go against the victor in Group B’s tiebreaker match (between Singapore versus Vietnam).
