Philippine CODM Supremacy on display again as Garena Masters S2 group stage ends
After eight days of hard-fought matches in the group stages, a familiar sight has emerged once again.
The Philippines has now reestablished its supremacy over neighbors Singapore and Malaysia after securing five out of eight slots in the upcoming Garena Masters Season 2 playoffs.
Led by invited teams Blacklist Ultimate, Smart Omega, and Mamba LowKings, as well as qualified teams C8 United and Tyrant Esports, the Filipinos are gearing up to square off against Singapore’s ALMGHTY and Gaijin Rogue and Malaysia’s Huntsmen.
Defending Season 1 Garena Masters champion Blacklist Ultimate are in for a tough title defense with Singaporean rivals ALMGHTY aiming for revenge. On the other hand. the revamped Smart Omega team as well as Garena Youth Challengers champion Tyrant Esports will also look to give Blacklist a run for their money come playoff time.
The 25,000 USD tournament, with the champion bagging $10,000 USD (approximately PHP 500,000), will have a double-elimination format in its playoffs similar to its first iteration.
