Weeks before the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022, the Smart Omega squad spoke with members of both local and international media.
Smart Omega consists of:
- Head Coach Anthony “YNOT” Senedrin,
- Coach Jaime “Pakbet” Abalos,
- Team Captain Patrick James “E2MAX” Caidic
- Renz Errol “Renzio” Cadua

Many of these members were previously members of Execration, who convincingly took the title of champions in MSC 2021. This year, they bear the banner of Smart Omega and the Philippine flag along with the PH battlecry: Pinas Lang Malakas.
We are proud to present our official roster for the MSC 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 🏆

One of the first questions probed coach Pakbet on making Z4pnu the team’s sixth man for this tournament. “Nakaplano na talaga na si [Z4pnu] yung magiging sixth man namin kasi may balak na talaga kaming paglaruin sya sa MSC [2022]”, he responded.
[Z4pnu being our sixth man was planned beforehand since we really had the intent to let him play this MSC.]
Raizen was then asked how he was preparing. To this, he answered “Practice lang. Confident ako this MSC.”
[Just practice. I’m confident about this MSC.]
When asked if he was feeling any pressure, he responded “Sa ngayon, wala pa pong pressure. Gigil na gigil po [ako], lalo na sa RSG PH kasi isa lang score namin sakanila eh.”
[As of now, there’s no pressure yet. I’m raring to go, especially against RSG since we only scored once against them.]
Z4pnu also got the chance to speak his message against his Indonesian bashers: “Wag sila magagalit sa sinabi ko na mas malakas Pilipinas. Abangan na lang nila pag pinasok ako.”
[Don’t get mad at what I said about Philippine teams being stronger. They can wait until I’m fielded in.]
“Feeling ko kayang sumabay ng [Philippine] amateur teams sa mga Indo teams,” he added.
[I feel like Philippine amateur teams are on the same level as Indonesian teams.]
The squad said that they’re worried about competitors coming from Singapore and Malaysia. “We saw them play against Blacklist, and [Singapore] almost won,” they said. “They have better play now, and their meta is almost the same as ours.”
We are your MPL S9 – 2nd place! 💚
Though we lost in the grand finals against RSG Philippines, best team this season, we are glad that we made it this far!#OneShotOmega #SmartAko #SmartOMG #PAYMAYA #UnleashTheBeast #MLBBEsports #MPLPhilippines #LakasNgPinas #BeLegendary #MPLS9 pic.twitter.com/HG8XiRKu1c

Smart Omega closed off the conference with a message to RSG PH. “Kung magtatagpo landas namin ng RSG, di na same nung nangyari sa MPL. Sila yung may pressure kasi may hawak ng MSC title. Sila ‘yung maghahanda samin.”
[If we cross fates with RSG, it won’t be the same as MPL. They have the pressure since we hold the MSC title. They should prepare for us.]
The MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 11th – 19th, Smart Omega, along with RSG PH, are the two Philippine flag bearers in the event.
