No Man’s Sky and Resident Evil Village coming to Mac thanks to Metal 3 API
Good news for Mac gamers! No Man’s Sky and Resident Evil Village are coming to Mac thanks to the Metal 3 API.
Announced in the recently concluded WWDC 2022, Apple’s venture into improving its gaming capabilities came in the form of a new and improved Metal 3 API.
“Metal 3 brings new features that will unleash the full potential of Apple Silicon for years to come,” said Jeremy Sandmel, Apple’s Senior Director of GPU Software.
Part of the Ventura (Apple’s new Mac operating system), the new version of Metal improved itself with the MetalFX framework (which manages upscaling for better resolution and improving frame rates) and a ‘fast resource loading API’ (which allows games to load faster).
With that said, both No Man’s Sky and Resident Evil Village will come to Macs sometime this year but no exact date has been revealed as of this moment.
