Paper Rex’s F0rsakeN Thinks Team Secret Should’ve Been Their Grand Finals Opponent
Paper Rex’s Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto thought Team Secret should’ve been their opponent in the VALORANT Challengers Tour (VCT) 2022 APAC Stage 2 Grand Finals as revealed in a post-tournament interview.
.@pprxteam reigns supreme!
They undeniably rule over the APAC Region as they remain sitting on the throne. They truly have proven that they're the ones to be feared of. Congratulations to our #VCTAPAC Champions!#VCT #VCTAPAC #VALORANTChampionsTour #APACRising pic.twitter.com/3XnkYlw85W

In the interview, Paper Rex’s superstar duelist was asked if they were expecting XERXIA Esports, the team they swept 3-0 in the VCT 2022 APAC Stage 2 Grand Finals, to be their opponents. To everyone’s surprise, the grand finals MVP revealed that he originally anticipated having a rematch against the Filipino representatives.
“Honestly, [in] the beginning, I was expecting that we will meet Team Secret [in the grand finals],” F0rsakeN confessed.
F0rsakeN then recalled Team Secret’s playstyle and described it as an “annoying” one. He also pointed out that they had similar team compositions with Team Secret (albeit with some differences as Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco retained his signature Sova pick in contrast with Paper Rex’s utilization of Fade).
“I remember when we played against them their agent selects were similar to us. Their playstyle is kinda annoying,” F0rsakeN commented on his team’s similarities with Team Secret.
Paper Rex faced Team Secret in the upper bracket finals where they won and dropped the Filipino squad to the lower bracket. They then faced XERXIA Esports, who in turn defeated Team Secret in the lower bracket finals, where they eventually swept them to be crowned as the APAC champions once more. They will also be representing the region alongside XERXIA in the upcoming VCT Masters at Copenhagen on July 10, 2022.
