AcadArena’s Alliance Games for CODM saw eight teams cut down to just six after the first day of the playoffs came to a close last weekend.

In the upper bracket, DLSU’s Viridis Arcus and ADMU’s LG Altair dispatched MCL’s Malayan Warlocks and CSB’s VPR Eclipse respectively to send them to the lower bracket.

On the other hand, FEU’s FIT Dasig and PUP’s Pylon Phantoms took care of USA’s Sage Ultimate and HAU’s Valiant Esports to boot them out of the competition.

Viridis Arcus (3) – Malayan Warlocks (0)

In the first match, DLSU’s Viridis Arcus made quick work of MCL’s Malayan Warlocks 3-0. The squad in green scored wins in Hardpoint at Firing Range (250-126), Search and Destroy at Firing Range (7-2), and Domination at Summit  (150-98). With the win, Viridis Arcus and DLSU will now move on to the Winners’ Semifinals.

FEATURED STORIES

FIT Dasig (3) – Sage Ultimate (2)

In the second match, FEU’s FIT Dasig bucked a disqualification in the second game win against USA’s Sage Ultimate, 3-2. After seemingly winning 3-1 courtesy of games in Hardpoint at Raid (250-221), Search and Destroy at Summit (7-4), Domination at Standoff (143-150), and Hardpoint at Takeoff (250-225), the game marshals found out FIT Dasig used a banned perk during the second game. This forced them to a disqualification in the second game and the game point was awarded to Sage Ultimate, which then led to the pivotal fifth game. However, in an interesting turn of events, Sage Ultimate went and kind of returned the favor by violating a rule of their own, allowing FIT Dasig to win the game outright. With that improbable win, FIT Dasig and FEU will be the ones to move on to the next round.

Pylon Phantoms (3) – Valiant Esports (1)

In the third live-streamed match of the day, PUP’s Pylon Phantoms booted HAU’s Valiant Esports out of the competition, winning 3-1. The Pylon Phantoms won games in Hardpoint at Standoff (250-191), Search and Destroy at Takeoff (7-4), and Hardpoint at Raid (250-211). With their win, the Pylon Phantoms and PUP will move on to the next stage of the competition.

LG Altair (3) – VPR Eclipse (1)

In the only off-air match on the schedule, ADMU’s LG Altair defeated CSB’s VPR Eclipse 3-1 to move on to the Winners’ Semifinals. The squad in blue will join their rivals in DLSU after securing wins in Hardpoint at Slums (250-161), Domination at Firing Range (150-92), and Hardpoint at Summit (250-105).

The next stage of the playoffs will continue next week with a grand finals slot at stake at #CQ2022 – CONQuest Festival offline LAN. Catch all of the action on AcadArena’s official Facebook page and Twitch channel.
