Mustang Aeros Tramples Ilonggo Rivals SAGE Veritas in AcadArena’s AllG Split 2 Play-Ins
With the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) play-ins for AcadArena’s Alliance Games Split 2 kicking off last Sunday, October 2, 2022, the Mustang Aeros from STI-West Negros University trampled their Ilonggo rivals, University of San Agustin – Iloilo’s SAGE Veritas, 2-1 in the last series of the opening week.
The first game of Mustang’s bout against SAGE went well as they took it convincingly. They wasted no time and took the first blood during the first clash at the turtle pit. The Mustangs then casually took one kill per minute in the first four minutes of the game which then led to a snowballed Wanwan at the hands of Mustang’s Hyakuya. Although SAGE kept up with the pace, Mustang Aeros maintained their gold lead the entire game as it eventually ended in their victory.
Unfortunately, the Mustangs lost in Game 2 due to SAGE Yong‘s Estes pick. Despite opting for a more aggressive lineup with the Wanwan and Ling, the Mustangs could not deal with the sustenance Estes gave, which allowed SAGE Heeroo‘s Lunox to become a menace on the field.
With the series going all the way, the folks from Mustang Aeros came out on top of this rivalry match. With SAGE finally respecting Hyakuya’s Wanwan with a ban, the Mustangs then went for a Karrie — a decision they did not regret as it disintegrated their opponents. With the game starting, the Mustangs were originally on the back foot early as SAGE took over at the start of Game 3. Fortunately, the Mustangs rose from the dead and turned the tides of battle after SAGE’s failed attempt to nail down the coffin with the first Lord of the game. From there, both teams battled it out evenly up until the clash for the third Lord wherein the Mustangs eliminated most of SAGE Veritas. With three players out from SAGE’s side, the Mustangs wasted no time and sieged SAGE’s base to end the game and the series.
