Pacific 2 eSports wins Razer NEXT Wave 2
More backlashes were felt by the competitive Dota 2 scene as Pacific 2 eSports wins Razer NEXT Wave 2 by way of default.
As all of the players under MSI-EvoGT’s Dota 2 squad were released owing to their involvement in a recent match-fixing scandal, MSI defaulted on their finals match against Pacific 2 eSports.
Pacific 2 eSports reached the finals after besting Insomnia while MSI-EvoGT defeated Arcanys Gaming.
Pacific 2 eSports will receive p8,000 and 5 Razer Kraken headphones. The MSI-EvoGT gaming division will receive P2,000 for finishing in second place.
The five players from MSI-EvoGT were let go by management after they confessed their involvement in a match-fixing scandal, with players from fellow pro gaming team Mineski. The team’s management have since released a statement, as well as news that they have acquired a new squad to carry their brand — the newly formed MSI-EvoGT.Powerplay — led by former Mineski player Mark Louise “xLucky” Reyes.
