TI11: RNG forfeits game 2 against PSG.LGD, cites health issues
Chinese Dota 2 team Royal Never Give Up (RNG) was forced to forfeit their game 2 against fellow Chinese team PSG.LGD today, October 17. RNG confirmed through their Weibo page that Lu “Somnus” Yao has tested positive for COVID-19. This news came after reports that PSG.LGD failed to report that one of their org members tested for the virus.

FEATURED STORIES
PSG.LGD previously received draft penalties for their failure to report their manager contracting COVID-19. Somnus allegedly came in contact with the former as per unconfirmed reports. RNG’s players tested negative during a COVID test last night, but reports say that Somnus was feeling unwell this morning. The player insisted on playing the game until the forfeiture in game 2.
PSG.LGD’s draft penalties were given by Valve due to the team failing to report a COVID-19 case from their team. The penalties are as follows:
- vs. RNG – unable to choose Radiant or Dire side
- vs. BOOM Esports – No reserve time for bans and pick
- vs. Gaimin Gladiators – No reserve time for bans and picks
RNG still has pending matches for the day against South American team Soniqs and European team OG. Currently, there are no reports on whether or not the team will play the remaining games.
