DLSU’s Viridis Arcus survives USA’s SAGE Ultimate to win Alliance Games Split 2 in CODM
The De La Salle University Viridis Arcus Esports extend their dominance in Call of Duty Mobile as they win the Alliance Games Split 2 championship for CODM last Sunday, December 10.
The green archers defeat a gutsy SAGE Ultimate squad from the University of San Agustin in Iloilo, 3-2 to defend their CODM title.
SAGE started the game off by winning a big game 1 in Hardpoint at Summit 250-191, stopping the rampaging Viridis Arcus on their tracks. DLSU however, immediately bounced back in game 2 in Search and Destroy at Raid 7-3. They continued their momentum and took game 3 as well in Control at Firing Range 3-0.
But USA seemed to have one more fight in them as they took game 4 in Hardpoint at Standoff in the closest of margins, winning 250-247 to set up a winner-take-all game 5.
In game 5 Search and Destroy at Standoff, however, DLSU and Viridis Arcus quickly asserted their dominance and took it all the way via a 7-4 result to come out as the undisputed campus CODM kings.
For his efforts in the finals, Marthur James “Mjay” Barongan won the Finals MVP award after averaging 1808 points.
With this championship win, Viridis Arcus CODM has secured back-to-back Alliance Games championships and their 10th straight CODM title overall.
