Going against the King of Kings, ECHO showed no fear as they fought tooth and nail against one of M4’s tournament favorites. Furthermore, ECHO reunited with one of their former coaches, Michael “Arcadia” Bocado, albeit on opposing ends this time. Arcadia’s stint on ECHO lasted for a year before he left and joined RRQ Hoshi as its current head coach.
ECHO’s starting five was Alston “Sanji” Pabico, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, and Jaypee “Jaypee” Cruz. Jaypee’s substitution of Tristan “YAWI” Cabrea in the starting five surprised even the English casters but proved to be beneficial for ECHO as his performance Khufra provided good setups for his team.
ECHO started the game against RRQ Hoshi with first blood by Sanji as he punished Muhammad “Lemon” Ikhsan’s aggressiveness on mid early in the game. Then, KarlTzy secured the first Turtle while Sanford secured a kill on RRQ Hoshi’s Albert “Alberttt” Iskandar.
Unfortunately, ECHO’s early gain was eventually dissipated by RRQ Hoshi as the game got virtually tied with a 4-4 scoreline by the 7-minute mark.
After securing the first and second Lords of the game, the game’s momentum eventually swung back to ECHO’s way and they gradually opened up the map, eventually knocking on RRQ Hoshi’s base by the second siege. ECHO then punished RRQ Hoshi’s Rivaldi “R7” Fatah twice in the late game which provided them ample breathing room and kept RRQ Hoshi at a safe distance. From there, they then took the third and final lord of the game and ended it swiftly in 18:37.
At the end of the game, Sanji was declared the MVP with an impressive KDA of 8/1/8 on an almost 90% team fight participation. Meanwhile, Bennyqt’s Karrie went deathless with a clean 7/0/5 KDA, Jaypee’s Khufra with a respectable 1/1/14 KDA, and Sanford with a 2/2/11 KDA.
Other Match Results
Echo wasn’t the only team that battled on that day with Filipino representation. Here are the other match results for our Filipino compatriots:
- Led by their Filipino coach Ameniel “Mundo” Mundo, the Egyptian organization Occupy Thrones lost both of their matches against RSG Singapore and RRQ Hoshi, respectively.
- Featuring former RRQ Philippines Peter “Basic” Lozano in the starting five and Chris “Mielow” Enobio as a sub, The Valley ended the day with a 1-1 record as they won against S11 Gaming Argentina and lost to RRQ Akira.
