In a statement by the game’s developer Respawn Entertainment, Respawn has made the ‘painful decision to sunset the game’ and that the decision was not easy to make.
Both players and content creators alike were puzzled as the game was just released globally last year on May 17. Its impending sudden shutdown on May 1, 2023, will then just be days before it celebrates its first anniversary.
Respawn cited “factors beyond our control” behind the development but haven’t specified the exact reason for their decision. People have identified these factors as game bugs and in-game cheating that have plagued the game for a while now.
Moreover, the game received a lot of criticism after stating that it will not provide refunds for in-game purchases. This left a lot of people furious but Respawn insisted that it was in accordance with the terms of the EA User Agreement.
Shutting down is one thing, but y'all released a lunar bundle pack for people to buy and wont refund them? Thats not right. You guys need to refund purchases made within the last 30-60 day period or something…

Are we going to get a refund for the money we spent? I don’t think that is right to end and not pay back the money people put in. Would be waisted
