Blacklist and G2 Esports partner up for Wild Rift team
The best of the East and the West collide in the G2 Blacklist Wild Rift team. The team will be co-branded and will be based here in the Philippines.
Tier One Entertainment CEO Tryke Gutierrez described G2 Blacklist as “a ‘1 + 2 = 4’ type of partnership,” signifying the immense waves that this combination of esports giants will make across Wild Rift esports and the industry as a whole. G2 Esports CEO Alban Dechelotte is in agreement, saying that “[this partnership] is one that was created with big ambitions” and that G2 is looking to capitalize on the continued growth of mobile esports in Asia.
G2 Blacklist Wild Rift will be composed of Karl Ken “KARLLL” Bautista, Allen Dean “Don” Auberg, Jace, Demon, Beaver-Ed “Orthros” Villanueva and Jhon Mike “Xyliath” Tungol. They will be coached by Wurahhhh and XDXP.
They will have their inaugural match in the WRL Asia 2023 – Season 1 – PH Qualifier Phase 2 where they face off against The 300. Fans can also follow the journey of the G2 Blacklist Wild Rift squad through the brand new series from Tier One Studios called “The Bootcamp.”
G2 Esports is a Berlin-based esports organization that has painted its history with success across multiple leagues and games. Most recently, their record-breaking CS:GO squad grabbed the trophy for IEM Katowice 2023. G2 is also a prominent name in League of Legends and Rocket League, to name a few.
Blacklist International, on the other hand, needs no introduction to the Philippine and Asian audience. Their dominance in the ML:BB scene is unparalleled, and other teams under the org also thrive in their respective leagues.
