Despite going against a home-crowd team without their superstar, Talon vanquished MIBR in just two games at Haven and Fracture.
Talon started the series greatly as Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut — who shifted to the smoker role with Omen — immediately recorded a 4K during a retake on the first round in Haven, eventually ending the first half 8-4 in their favor. They then carried the momentum all the way to the second half and closed it perfectly 13-8.
Unlike Game 1, Fracture’s debut as a map at VCT LOCK//IN in Game 2 saw both teams fighting tooth and nail, with Talon coming out as the victor. Talon was ahead going into the second half with a 7-5 scoreline but was eventually overtaken by MIBR in Round 15. Fortunately, Talon retook the lead with a five-round win streak and was able to avoid overtime by closing it out 13-11.
With their win against MIBR, Talon will proceed to their next matchup where they will be facing North American team Evil Geniuses in the Alpha Bracket Quarterfinals.
