Smart Omega eliminates LF Org in CODM Garena Masters 4 thriller
There was no shortage of drama in the penultimate game date of the CODM Garena Masters 4 group stages.
After 11 grueling game days of non-stop Call of Duty Mobile action, Smart Omega and LF Org capped off the day at the highest stakes. The winner of the matchup would get the last and final spot in the playoffs, and the defending champions delivered.
With their backs against the wall, Smart Omega outlasted a tough LF Org squad to win 2-1 and advance into the CODM Garena Masters 4 playoffs.
The back-to-back Garena Masters champion treated fans to a masterful game 1 win in Hardpoint at Summit, 250-162, to start the series. LF Org bounced back with a clutch Search and Destroy at Firing Range win, 8-6, in game 2 to bring it to a winner-take-all game 3.
Ultimately, Smart Omega showed the experience they got after their World Champs ’22 stint last year by dominating in game 3 Control at Raid, 3-0. They effectively knock LF Org out of the competition as only two teams advance to the playoffs from each group.
It was a story of LF Org’s misfortune as they fell into the group of death with Singapore’s best and Smart Omega. As promising as the team was with their campaign, it was just not enough.
Among the teams advancing to the playoffs were SKADI and Broke Boys Club (Group A); Blacklist Ultimate and Huntsmen (Group B); ALMGHTY and Smart Omega (Group C); and WPM LowKings and 4S Kings (Group D).
Moreover, playoff brackets will be revealed at a later date after Garena’s playoff draw. The playoff series will be in a double elimination format, with 4 days of action starting on March 18. It will still run on weekends with the grand final to be on March 26.
