The VALORANT roster of Abaddon Abyss is currently looking for a new organization to call home just after exiting the VALORANT Challengers League Philippines: Split 1 Playoffs.

The all-Bisaya boys of Abaddon Abyss are composed of Matthew Lance “Hydra” Padios, Matthew Lance “Hydra” Padios, Alfi Angelo “vblack” Lua, Shawn Dale “slathom999” Bolondro, Abdul Rafi “Rababz” Biyala, Kurt Stanley “Asta” Laurido, and John Danlee “exotic” Mag-Aso. Throughout their run in VCL PH, the team faced many hurdles a boot camp-less team had to deal with, even going through a match against Oasis Gamig in the playoffs that saw Hydra disconnecting from the server during a crucial Game 3 due to a power outage at Davao.

As revealed in a post by one of their managers, Abaddon Abyss is allowing their entire roster to look for greener pastures amidst a financial constraint affecting the organization.

“Although the circumstances are rough and it is deeply sad for things to go this way, especially after the tough elimination from VCL PH playoffs, we just had to be realistic and accept that these situations may happen any time in the esports scene as it is very volatile and no one has really figured out how to make ends meet as an esports [organization],” said Abaddon Abyss manager Adam “shycodelix” Aseniero.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated case as multiple rosters and players have been dropped from their respective teams starting from the qualifiers to the group stage, most notably Sky Empire which even led to Francis Danison “Rabbet” Buñag’s retirement as a competitive player.

Despite it, Shycodelix is optimistic that the team will be picked up soon as he thinks it’s the perfect time for organizations to sign a roster.

“I honestly think it’s still possible, considering right now is the best time for orgs to pickup teams if they still wanna make it this season. We’re in between the timeline for Split 1 (which is finishing the playoffs soon) and Split 2 (which starts later this end of the month I believe) and it would be the last possible time for orgs to enter the scene without having to wait for the next season which starts next January,” Shycodelix explained.

As for the team itself, Shycodelix revealed they’re trying to get picked up as a team but will not stop the players to look after themselves.

“We’re finding sponsors for [Abaddon Abyss] or possibly [other organizations] who can pick us up as we try to stick together for the meantime. However, we will allow them to seek offers individually if our options are exhausted,” Shycodelix revealed.
