Thanamethk “Crws” Mahatthananuyut from Talon Esports has revealed that he contracted Bell’s palsy, forcing him to miss his flight with his team to South Korea.

The Thai controller broke the news through a tweet published on March 12, 2023. “I won’t be flying out to Korea with the boys tomorrow morning. I’ve recently been diagnosed with [Bell’s] palsy,” Crws tweeted.

Bell’s palsy is a neurological disorder that causes paralysis or weakness on one side of the face. Symptoms include sudden weakness or paralysis on one side of your face and a drooping eyebrow and/or mouth. Other notable celebrities with the disorder include former Batman actor George Clooney and Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie.

FEATURED STORIES

Crws has not revealed how he contracted the disorder but the reasons behind it can range from swelling and inflammation of the nerve that controls the muscles on one side of the face to complications stemming from a virus infection. Currently, there is no known cure for Bell’s palsy but most people recover from it within just a few weeks.

Crws’s tweet has garnered 9.4K views and 1.4 reactions as of this article’s writing and has gained sympathy from the entire VALORANT scene.

This isn’t the first time a Talon Esports player has contracted a health issue during their active service. It can be remembered that Talon superstar Patiphan Chaiwong was sidelined for the entirety of Valorant Champions Tour LOCK//IN due to surgery on his wrist.

For now, there’s no word yet whether or not Crws will be missing out on their match against Team Secret in the Pacific League this coming March 26, 2023, but he has assured everyone that he will be flying out to South Korea soon.
