Red Bull and OG recently held a press interview with Sebastien “Ceb” Debs for the documentary “Who is Ceb?” released yesterday, March 17, 2023. Esports INQ managed to ask him a few questions regarding the documentary and his thoughts on the current state of Dota 2.
Who is Ceb?
The documentary will be about Ceb and OG’s journey during the Stockholm Major in 2022. Ceb said that the film is “a really nice piece, ” stating that the crew had access to everything — from in-game communication to backstage talks.
“It’s a bit like True Sight, in a way,” He added. Ceb is no stranger to being a star in Valve’s True Sight, starring in two consecutive documentaries by winning two straight The International championships.
Lima Major lookback
There have been rumors that the Lima Major crowd was “cheating” by whistling every time the enemy team would smoke against their home team, Evil Geniuses. There have been several Reddit posts about the issue, including one where the crowd whistled during a smoke attempt by Entity.
“It’s a big shame, that we’re even speaking about it,” Ceb said disappointedly. “It’s a shame that we are even talking about it, and I think Valve should be more strict and punish everyone involved in the issue.”
Other pros and casters have also called out the crowd regarding the issue, calling it “unsportsmanlike” and an “embarrassment”. TI11 winner Tundra Esports player Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu quipped that the microphones could have picked up the sounds, so players could still hear crowd chants even with padded earphones.
The problem with the lan set up at the Peru major is that the headphones might be industrial grade noise canceling but the microphones are not. So they just pick up the constant noises of the arena of the casters and the crowd.

7.32e or 7.33?
“I was hoping that they were gonna go with 7.33, but I think they’re behind schedule or something,” said Ceb when asked about the recent patch. The Dota 2 7.32e patch went live last week, March 7. The patch update contained minor nerfs and buffs to heroes, as well as the release of the newest hero, Muerta.
“[Although] I like that there was a small patch, I would have loved for a bigger patch,” Ceb added, saying that the game could “really use a change of state.” During a recent Monkey Business podcast with Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Ceb mentioned that he would love to see changes to the map in patch 7.33, as the game was getting stale in terms of pace.
Patch 7.33 will be coming in April, according to Dota 2 developers. They say that they are “currently working on an ambitious gameplay patch” and that it would be completed within the next month.
