THRONE RECLAIMED: Blacklist Ultimate are the CODM Garena Masters 4 champions
A year after winning it all, Blacklist Ultimate is back on top as the kings of Garena CODM.
The CODM squad of the renowned organization Blacklist International redeems its throne after defeating the WPM LowKings 4-2 in the CODM Garena Masters 4 grand final. It is Blacklist Ultimate’s first Garena Masters title since winning the first iteration of the tournament in March of 2022 and their second Garena Masters title overall.
The title is also Blacklist’s third-time charm after losing both the Garena Masters 2 and 3 finals to bitter rivals Smart Omega. After today’s results, the team also solidified itself as Garena CODM’s most consistent team after making the grand finals of all four Garena Masters iterations, winning two of them.
The agents’ route to the championship was particularly dominant with the exception of one series. They finished with a perfect 18-0 record in the group stages and then made quick work of the 4S Kings in the quarterfinals 3-0.
Blacklist then faced their first real test through the entirety of the tournament when they faced their rivals in Smart Omega. The Blacklist International-backed squad fell behind early 0-2 after an impressive two-game start by Omega. However, they recovered just in time to come back and deliver a reverse sweep to win 3-2, sending Smart Omega to the lower bracket.
From then on, Blacklist went through with laser-sharp focus. Leaning on their battle-tested experience and mettle, they sent the WPM LowKings to the lower bracket as well, winning 3-1 and advancing to the grand finals. Blacklist finished the LowKings off in the grand finals 4-2 after the latter secured a rematch with them following their lower bracket run.
With their title win, Blacklist secures the biggest share of the 26,500 USD prize pool worth 10,000 USD (approximately 550,000 PHP).
