The game is called Crab Champions, a third-person shooter with roguelike elements. Its creator, Eoin O’Broin (who also goes by Noisestorm), has been solo developing the game since 2019, and he released early access for Crab Champions on Steam earlier this April.
Pop culture and meme enthusiasts can definitely recall the crab rave music video. After all, it was all over social media shortly after the music video was released. The Crab Rave song was originally released in April 2018 under the Canadian record label Monstercat as part of the Monstercat Instinct Vol. 1 and peaked at #14 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
Prior to the game’s release on Steam, the game originally had a target launch way back on August 20, 2020, but was delayed indefinitely. Fortunately, the release of the game this year coincided with the song’s fifth anniversary.
