Prior to their matchup, both Blackist and TODAK had clean records in Group D as both teams swept Teamy Occupy in their respective matchups with the Egyptian team.
Game 1 of the series saw Blacklist International outclassing TODAK right from the get-go. The game ended 15-2 in favor of the agents, with the two deaths solely coming from the game’s MVP Danerie “Wise” Rosario.
Then, TODAK stole Game 2 away from Blacklist International to equalize the series 1-1. Despite their dominant outing in the second game, with an 8K gold lead prior to the game’s end, Blacklist lost to TODAK due to Muhammad “CikuGais” Fuad as he slipped under the nose of the agents and proceeded to lock in on the base.
Additionally, TODAK’s win in the second game marks the Malaysian team’s first time beating Blacklist International in a game on the international stage, with their current record standing at one win and six losses against Blacklist after the series’ conclusion.
With the series tied, Blacklist International proved to be the stronger team between the two as they won the third and final game. Despite picking the hero during their loss in the second game, Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna proved that Minotaur’s resurgence in this current patch only added to the strength of their agent pool, taking home the final game MVP nod of the series with his flawless 2/0/11 KDA.
With the conclusion of the MSC 2023 group stage, Blacklist International is set to face Fire Flux Impunity in the knockout stage. Meanwhile, their fellow Filipino compatriots ECHO is set to face TODAK.
