NAOS Esports managed to claim the top spot of Group Alpha as they finished the group stage with a 3-1 record, only losing to Thailand’s XERXIA Esports who narrowly missed out on a playoff spot due to a triple-way tie between them, BOOM Esports, and Fancy United Esports.
The Filipino squad’s Ascencion run started with a 2-1 reverse sweep on Vietnam’s Fancy United Esports before subsequently getting reverse swept themselves by XERXIA for their second series.
Then, NAOS met up with Indonesia’s BOOM Esports, who still had their Champions 2022 trio of Rizkie Adla “BerserX” Kusuma, Gary “blaZek1ng” Dastin, and Fikri Zaki “Famouz” Hamdani, and managed to outplay them 2-1.
Lastly, their final series with ONE Team Esports ended in a 2-0 sweep thus granting NAOS the top spot of their group with a record of three wins and one loss.
As one of the top-seeded teams, the other one held by Group Omega’s eventual top team, NAOS Esports directly goes to the semifinals of the VCT 2023 Pacific Ascension Playoffs where they will face the winner of the quarterfinals between Fancy United and their respective opponent from Group Omega.
