First to fall was Team Secret against ZETA DIVISION, the latter being responsible for sending RRQ to the lower bracket the day prior. Team Secret’s upper final series against the Japanese team ended in a 2-0 defeat, losing in Lotus 13-9 and Fracture 13-7.
Koji “Laz” Ushida’s surprise Chamber pick on both maps gave Secret a lot of trouble, with Laz top fragging for ZETA in game one on Lotus with 26/13/1 and finishing game 2 on Fracture with 16/9/3.
After Team Secret’s loss, RRQ was the next to falter as they lost to Gen.G 2-1. RRQ got stomped during the first game on Haven as they lost 13-6 but then immediately returned the favor to Gen.G by winning the second game on Lotus 13-2. Unfortunately, RRQ’s luck ran out as Gen.G proved to be the better of the two as the South Korean squad won the third and final game on Ascent 13-7.
With the day’s results, Team Secret is set to have an LCQ rematch against Gen.G in the lower bracket final. The winner of the aforementioned match will meet ZETA in the grand final for the last spot for Pacific teams at Champions this year.
