Valve Announces Details for Pinnacle Dota 2 Tournament, “The International 5”
Valve, the developers of Dota 2, recently announced on their official blog some details about this year’s The International.
The main event will be held in Seattle once again for six days from Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 to Thursday, Aug. 8, 2015. Like previous editions of the tournament, 16 teams will duke it out in the main event. As for the invites, they will be handed out beginning May 1 this year.
Apparently the reason why they released details early is because Valve wants to prevent scheduling issues similar to last year when schedules of premier tournaments clashed with the qualifiers for The International.
It is worthy to note that the prize pool for the previous edition of the International reached $10.9 million, with 14 out of 16 teams finishing in the money.
The exact venue as well as the qualifier format for this year’s The International have yet to be released as of press time.
