After a rather disastrous Day 3 in the Dota 2 Asian Championship SEA Qualifiers, Mineski-Dota, the sole Filipino team in the qualification round, has finally gained some much needed points in order to increase their chances of being one of the six teams who will be in China this coming January 29.

They went up first against Can’t Say Wips (CSW), the team which just won the OK.-Dota 2 Cup in Singapore last December. The Filipino squad beat them handily with a score of 2-0 despite some sloppy plays especially in the first game of the match.

Afterwards, they faced Immortal Magneto Gaming (IMG), one of the Chinese teams who were sitting at the upper half of the table for the past few days. In what could be one of the most exciting games in the qualifiers thus far, the Filipinos, lead by Ryan Jay “Jay” Qui’s Naga Siren, grabbed the game from the Chinese squad after a heart-pounding 54-minute game that saw kills come back and forth between the two sides ending with a base race in the dying minutes of the game. It is also interesting to notice that Marc Polo Fausto’s Jakiro did a lot of good plays during the match, especially when IMG went for the all-in push attempt.

Game two saw aggressive attacks from both sides, with the Chinese team gaining the first blood on Marc Polo Fausto’s Medusa just before the horn was sounded. From then on, it was all about teamfights and skirmishes as both sides fought all over the map. At the end of the 33-minute bloodbath, Mineski tapped out, thus ending the set with a draw.

With these results, Mineski ends up the fourth day of the qualifiers with one win and one loss.  They rised up to 9th place in the overall rankings with a 3-3-4 record, garnering 9 points from 10 games played so far. It is important to mention that Mineski must get the maximum amount of points that they can get from their remaining matches if they are to have a chance at getting into the top six.

In addition, it can be seen that at the end of Day 4, the Chinese teams were dominating the upper half of the group, with CDEC-Gaming leading the pack with a 10-4-1 record and 24 points to their name.
