Razer NeXT Season 2 Semi-Finals Coverage Blog

After days of action-packed matches, four teams will duke it out today in the semi-finals of the Razer NeXT Season 2 tournament for a chance to go to the finals and win a cash prize of P10,000!

Last leg’s champions, Southern Conference team Arcanys Gaming will be matched up against Northern Conference second seed Minerva. Meanwhile, Northern Conference first rank Execration will fight against southern second rank Wakeup Girls.

Will Execration and Arcanys be able to land a star-studded matchup in the finals? Or will one of the previously unseen teams get an upset and make things more interesting?

Execration vs. Wakeup Girls

Execration drafts a burst-damage and initiation-heavy lineup consisting of heroes such as Lion and Shadow Fiend, while Wakeup Girls decide to take a very tanky lineup for themselves so that they can withstand the damage output that Execration’s heroes can produce during fights.

The scorecard at the end of the match shows that the match was just about as bloody as it could get; the map ended in 33 minutes with a kill score of 29-24. Wakeup Girls had the kill advantage at certain points in the game, but Execration’s movement around the map was just too much for them to handle.

With this result, Execration grabs a slot in the finals of the Razer NeXT Season 2 tournament.

 UPDATE:

According to a statement from the organizers, they decided to postpone the Arcanys-Minerva match because of technical issues. They further mentioned that the match will be “postponed until further notice”.
