PlayBook Hosts Versus Smash Circuit’s Second Major Tournament
Versus eSports’ Smash Circuit conducted its second major tournament last Saturday at PlayBook Video Game Lounge and Bookshop in Parañaque. Twenty participants across the metro participated in the event. They battled it out not only for first place, but for a chance to qualify for the Grand Finals in April.
Charles “Shampoo Master” Noel took first place in the tournament, winning not only important circuit points, but a Smash GameCube Controller and a custom-colored Amiibo as well. Following suit were brothers Denis “Guppy” Giron and Don Yves “DON” Giron, who also won custom Amiibos.
Due to his absence, Patrick “DJR” Levy was bumped into second place in the standings as Shampoo Master replaced him, while DON retains his third place spot.
Three weekly tournament rounds will still be held at PlayBook and Rumpus Room between last Saturday’s major event and the Grand Finals, where only the Top 16 of the circuit will qualify.
