All the teams in China and the Americas fought their way to the top during the first day of The International 5 Qualifiers, each game was as exciting as the next.

EHOME, Energy Peacemaker (EP), HyperGlory Team (HGT) and CDEC are the top four teams in the China group with EHOME leading with seven points so far while North American Rejects, coL.Dota2, mouz and VoidBoys are the top four in the Americas group.

Chinese Qualifiers Highlight: From stalemate to base race

The first game between NewBee.Young and EP was one of the nail-biting matches throughout the Chinese Qualifiers. Both teams kept on edging each other the during the whole game. NewBee.Y managed to take down EP’s bottom barracks but EP managed to do the same with their middle barracks.

NewBee.Y’s carries got decent farms, NewBee.Y’s Weaver, played by Piao, even got a Divine Rapier that helped the team in defending their base and during team fights. Their Leshrac, played by Chun ‘Sccc’ Song, even got an Octarine Core and it also gave an advantage for team NewBee.Y.

However EP also had decent farm with their carries. It was a stalemate and the game went on for over an hour. Eventually, the game ended with a base race and EP got to NewBee.Y’s throne.

American Qualifiers: Aegis steal

The battle between mouz and Ehug was one of the opening matches of the American Qualifiers. It was an even game with both team getting pick-offs by pick-offs with the match slightly favoring eHug. Their Shadow Fiend, played by Justin ‘Justin’ Roselle was leading the total Net Worth.

The game changer was during the 40-minute mark where eHug went for Roshan. Unfortunately for their team, mouz took action and marched their way in the Rosh pit. Rubick was the first one who got picked off until it was a full-team wipe. Dominik ‘Black^’ Reitmeier who played Bristleback got the Aegis and their team proceeded to take down eHug’s towers, eHug surrendered.

The TI5 Qualifiers continues for both regions today and there are still a lot of matches to look out for. Meanwhile, the South East Asian and European Qualifiers will start on Firday, May 29, 2015.
