Go to Clash of Summer. You Won’t Regret It.
You should go to this weekend’s Clash of Summer event.
That’s all for this article! See you next time!
…
Still here? Well, alright then.
This weekend, May 31, 2015, the Clash of Summer Clash of Clans event at Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill is set to bring together some 200 avid, screaming fans of the popular mobile strategy game under one roof.
For those of you not in the know, Clash of Clans is a widely popular strategy and resource management game by Finnish game developer, Supercell.
How popular is it? It’s “Liam-Neeson-The-Guy-From-Taken-Takes-It-Very-Seriously” popular.
See for yourself:
It’s a game with such a massive player-base and universal appeal that the Supercell company has earned at least $2.4 Million a day, thanks largely to a collection of animated barbarians, archers and goblins.
This is the kind of game that the Philippine eSports Organization (PeSO), the Philippine Clash of Clans Battleground (PCCB) organization and real estate development firm Megaworld are bringing to the table as an event to bring enthusiasts, fans, gamers and casual observer together for a fun-filled event.
And I am here to tell you why you SHOULD go.
Because aside from praying that Liam Neeson WILL make an appearance, this event will be a ton and a half of fun. I’m sure of it.
Here’s why:
1. The event will be crawling with savage barbarians
Right off the top, you will see archers, barbarians, goblins and even skeletons running around Venice Piazza. No, you aren’t somehow in the movie set of Braveheart (although that movie would have been infinitely better if it had dragons and a robot samurai). This May 31, the Clash of Summer event will feature a Cosplay Contest. The winner takes a cool P12,000.
So you better believe that people’s A-game will be brought. Personally? I can’t wait to see someone cosplay as the Witch (no one tell Mrs. Brightroar, please).
2. An all-out, all-day battle!
Clans, 5 members each, will duke it out for the first place prize of P20,000! With such a lot of money at stake for such an innocuous mobile game, expect the entire day to be filled with the sounds of fireballs, arrows and mortars flying overhead.
Even in hot and humid Manila, I fully expect the sun to blotted out by the countless flocks of dragons soaring over villages, laying waste to everything that moves — all the while, trophies are being fought over and lost.
For clashers looking to up their game, Republika Pinas will be holding attack tutorials to teach you how to drive your enemies before you and hear the lamentations of their children.
It’s going to be a truly epic day.
An aside: Has anyone ever wondered why your troops are eager to attack and perish against your enemies, but won’t defend your base when you’re the one being attacked?
3. All the loot you can carry
You can go home with your very own Barbarian King. I can’t tell you how much willpower it took to resist buying gems just to finally get this guy.
But for just letting the fine people over at the PCCB Facebook page why YOU should win this 12″ ceramic figurine, well…you can win this 12″ ceramic figurine.
That’s not all: you can also win exclusive prizes, purchase limited edition Clash of Clans memorabilia and so much more.
So I’m telling you guys:
Go to this weekend’s Clash of Summer CoC event at the Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill. You won’t regret it.
