Even as the Southeast Asian road to The International 5 continues in full force, the team disbands and roster changes have begun to surface in the SEA Dota 2 scene.

In a official statement, Australian-based Cant Say Wips (CSW) has announced on their website that the team has been officially dissolved, citing insufficient results as the reason behind the disbandment.

Earlier, team captain Darcy “Godot” Jose has announced on Saturday, May 30, that he has left the team.

Here is what Mattherm “MJelmas” Elmas, manager of CSW, have to say about the situation:

FEATURED STORIES

Its an expected end to the team, after all we had no illusions about what The International meant for our squad, and like so many other teams, our failure to secure attendance comes as a severe blow to any residual motivation we may have had. That being said, our departure from one another comes with reflection on our successes, from an international LAN victory to several smaller online tournaments throughout the last year, we part ways having forged lasting friendships with one another that are arguably far more valuable than any tournament prize.

He continues as follows:

On that note, Can’t Say Wips ends their story, at least for the foreseeable future. On behalf of the team I’d like to thank everyone who has played a part in our success, including both David ‘R1sk’ Arnous and Justin ‘xmusica’ Yuen, who parted ways with the team earlier in the year, and of course Leow ‘Fixers’ Chen Kai, who offered us his services as a stand-in on many occasions. But above all else I want to thank our fans, who have supported us through our successes and failures in the last year, we have sincerely appreciated it.

CSW is most notably known for getting the top spot at the OK. – Dota 2 Cup held in Singapore, winning 3-0 against G-Guard and getting a cash prize of $24,000 (P1,068,400).
