Last Sunday, June 14, Crossfire enthusiasts were in for another treat as the third leg of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament went with the Group Stage and the Conference Finals in order to determine who will fight for the crown in this season’s Wave Finals.

The Northern Conference saw Pacific.Macta and Macta Infirma 2 take their respective slots for the Wave Finals, while WattzKing and o0HASLEFT0o ruled over the rest of the teams in the Southern Conference.

Three maps were selcted for this portion of the tournament: Port, Ankara and Black Widow. All of the maps are part of the official tournament pool for the 2015 CrossFire season.

The North: Surprise, Surprise!

Many people expected either Pacific.Macta or Pacific.Wara to take the spots for the Northern Conference group, after all, these two teams have done it twice in the previous editions of the tournament. However, Macta Infirma 2, Macta’s cadet team, decided to step up their game to take the top spot in the group stage, leaving Pacific.Macta, who is arguably the best CrossFire team in the country today, to take the second slot in the Northern Conference final.

FEATURED STORIES

While MSIEvoGT appeared in the group stage for the second time in the history of the tournament, Pacific.Wara bowed out of the group stage this time around after not being able to get the necessary number of points in order to get to the next stage.

The South: Coming Back Into The Fray

With iFive beating nAoGaming in the opening match of the Southern Conference, Bacolod makes history by fielding a team for the second time in the history of the tournament. iFive joins Wattzking, o0HASLEFT0o and HL.Decapitatorz in their respective bids to get to the Wave Finals in the Southern Conference group stage.

In the end, o0HASLEFT0o and Wattzking get through the grueling round robin bracket, thus making it the second time that both teams reached the finals of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament. The first time it happened was during the first wave of the tournament, when they were still Spammers and NxA, respectively.

Will the South be able to get to the finals and finally get a chance at taking the championship? Or will the two Macta teams take it and turn it into an all-Northern Conference grand final for the third time around?

Mark your calendars as the Wave Finals commence on Sunday, June 21!
