Pacific.Macta Team Wins CrossFire Premier Tournament, Will Represent Philippines in Grand Finals

After having to beat hundreds of teams from all over the country and wait for six months, the title of Philippine’s best CrossFire team is finally settled as Pacific.Macta is crowned as the champion of the CrossFire Stars (CFS) 2015 Philippine National Finals, after beating rival sister team Pacific.Wara, 2-1.

The first pick was Sub Base, followed by Mexico and finally Black Widow as the deciding map.

Pacific.Macta is arguably number one team in the Philippines and aimed to defend their CFS 2014 Philippine title, while Pacific.Wara, also known as the solid number two team in the Philippines, wants to regain their 2013 championship.

Wara is the only team that has taken championships against Macta during the 2015 regular season.

Sub Base: Lightning Storm

Sub Base is notoriously known for its quick rotation timings and close-range pickoff opportunities, only second to Mexico which is the smallest map in the CrossFire competitive map pool.

The match starts in a very close manner, characterized by a show of frag trading between two sides, with rounds ending within the span of seconds as teams try to out-aim each other. In the 5th round, Mark Cris “MACMANSHIP” Mirote got a triple kill to win the round for his team, while Pacific.Macta handled Wara’s rush tactic in order to end the half at 5-4 in their favor.

Once again, in the second half where Wara takes the offensive against Macta, the first three rounds were too close to call as both sides clawed their way to win their respective rounds. However, starting on the 13th round, Macta Infirma decided to activate an extra gear and roll over Pacific.Wara, taking Sub Base with a scoreline of 10-6 thanks to a combination of pick-offs, site holds and aggressive pushes.

Mexico: Blitzkrieg Trades

Mexico is the smallest map in the pool that allows for the fastest rotation timings that one can hope for. In addition, its numerous corners make it a nightmare for any Black List member that waltzes into a certain site.

However, Wara devised certain strategies in order to make the opposing team extremely uncomfortable on a map that they rarely lose: Mexico is one of Macta’s stronger maps and Wara showed ways in order to counter the setups that their sister team used on this map.

Each round of this map is action-packed: whether it is Aries “RAMSEVIENNE” Alde’s phenomenal frags or Victor “mpoyisonfire” Fulache’s flash drops, the veterans showed that they have still one more ace up their sleeve.

Thanks to their counter-strategies and quick reactions, Pacific.Wara win the second map with a very close score of 10-9.

Black Widow: Aim Wars

With its broad passages and straightforward construction, Black Widow is a mecca for those who prefer to go for all sorts of aim duels, whether it be using assault rifles, Desert Eagles or the notorious AVM sniper rifle!

While Mexico was the “Wara show”, this time around, Christian “IAmRevenge” Amores and Aldrin Paul “AldrinPaul.” Borabon showed why they among the best CrossFire players in the country by carrying the team on their backs, never giving Pacific.Wara any room to breathe as the two of them hammered through the Wara defense on the A site.

In addition, IAmRevenge also won a couple of clutch rounds in the first half, while all was left for Pacific.Macta to do in the second half was to clean up house in order to take $3,000 in cash as well as the honor of representing the Philippines at the CrossFire Stars 2015 Grand Finals to be held from December 4-6 this year at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China.

Meanwhile, Pacific.Wara gets $2,000 for their heroic efforts.
