Execration Survive Malaysian Team, Win P235K
Filipino team Execration (Xctn) survive Malaysian squad Team Redemption (TR) in a gruesome best-of-five series – 3-2 – to become the champion of Beyond The Summit (BTS) Series #2, taking home P235,000 ($5,000) prize money, Dec. 7 evening (Philippine time).
TR took the first game of the series. While Xctn snatched two consecutive games to put the Malaysians on the edge of defeat. But TR revenged and forced a game five-decider.
The final game of the series went the distance. TR had the early lead in the game and found themselves in a comfortable position. Xctn showed some heart and stood their ground against the Malaysian opposition, eventually pulling-off a comeback to win the title.
“We’re very happy to have this win since changing our roster. We are back [on] track,” Arvin “Beho” Risos, Xctn’s manager told eSports by INQUIRER.net. “Actually [we did not expect this championship]. We [were] really surprised na umabot kami hanggang finals.”
Earlier this week Xctn surprised the Philippine Dota 2 scene with their 2-0 upset against top team Mineski.
“[We] will continue to practice and improve our gameplay. We’re preparing for WCA so we are improving our hero pool,” Risos said.
