The Imperium eSports Bar and Video Game Lounge is Now Officially Closed.
Well-known ‘gaming bar’ Imperium down in Metro Walk, Ortigas has officially closed up shop. The news comes as a dismay to the avid patrons that frequent the flamboyant watering hole. Imperium’s pairing of gaming and booze made waves around the Metro and social media since it first opened its doors way back in December 2013. It offered something unique for the gamers who wanted to grab a drink and hang out with their friends in an awesome (and comfy) environment. Top of the line rigs lined the wall for your gaming pleasure while bottles of Jack Daniel’s and Smirnoffs graced the bar. Some called Imperium a paradise for gamers since what in the would could be better than ‘inebriated gaming’?
Imperium famously hosted the first ever Fighting Game International Major in the country in September of last year in the Manila Cup. The event was officially a part of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour and it drew players from all over the world to showcase their skills.
Though Imperium’s Video Game Lounge may be closing it’s professional gaming teams will still be going strong assured Imperium management in its Facebook page. There is also a glimmer of hope for all the patrons out there because Imperium could just be looking for another location as they hinted at ‘evolution’ and a ‘Phase 2’. So let’s keep our fingers crossed and chant in unison: #allhail.
