Even as the Winter Major at Shanghai, China ended, it seems that drama has one final episode. Earlier today, teams woke up to a startling discovery as personal items and belongings were missing from their practice rooms.

Yet, as the Dota 2 world saw Team Secret win the Winter Major after beating Team Liquid, 3-1, the Shanghai Major had to deal with one final problem: The practice rooms at the hotel were dismantled by Perfect World and hotel staff without notifying any of the teams beforehand. As a result, 40 to 50 personal items have been lost, with a good number of them “simply being thrown into the hall”, according to Georgy Faleev, VP’s manager.

FEATURED STORIES

Team Secret, the Winter Major champions, had to deal with a good number of these losses themselves. After hours of looking around, they found Theeban “1337” Silva’s laptop charger amongst “hundreds of cables.” They even showed pictures of their hotel room in Shanghai on social media.

This looks like a war zone!

However, the biggest loss for the day belongs to veteran LGD player Bai “rOtk” Fan, who lost the keys of his Maseratti during the unannounced cleanup at the hotel.

That’s a hard loss to have after placing joint 9th-12th place in the tournament.

Perfect World, for their part, has promised the players that they are willing to pay the cost of the missing items.
