Imperium Pro Team Bows Out of Garena Premier League, Gets Semifinals Finish
After a stellar performance in the group stages, Philippine representatives Imperium Pro Team (IPT) get eliminated from the Garena Premier League (GPL) Spring 2016.
The Filipino side lost their semi-finals match against Saigon Jokers from Vietnam, 3-1, even though they took the first game of the series.
IPT had released the following statement regarding their loss on their Facebook page, promising that “they will be around for more”:
With this loss, Imperium Pro Team finish joint 3rd/4th place in the tournament, while Saigon Jokers and Bangkok Titans move on to the grand finals to determine the Southeast Asian representatives to the 2016 International Wildcard Invitational, to be held between April 16-23 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City later this year.
The winner of the Wildcard Invitational will go on to get the wildcard slot for the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational, which is League of Legends’ largest mid-season tournament.
