TIP to Represent the Philippines in First League of Legends Int’l Collegiate Tournament
Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) will get to bear the Filipino flag as they compete in the first ever League of Legends International Collegiate Championships (LICC) to be held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The tournament will be attended by different campus teams all around Asia. The winners of the competition will then receive $5000, laptops, and be declared the “Most dominant regional collegiate team” in Asia. TIP Vindicator eSports Club proved their worth in representing the country after defeating Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) , 3-0, in the Garena LOL Collegiate League (LCL) championships, a tournament held every year with different colleges in the country competing. They already showed promise early on in the LCL after maintaining an undefeated 12-0 winning streak in the group stages.
Aside from representing the country, TIP will also compete in the Philippine Pro Gaming Series Promotionals. Winning the promotionals will give the team a chance to enter the Pro Gaming Series wherein they will be battling it out against the best teams in the country.
The LICC will start in Nov. 12-13. No specific venue has been set yet. JE
