Mineski-Dota to Skip WESG in Favor of ASUS ROG Masters in Malaysia
In a Facebook announcement made by the team today, Mineski’s Dota 2 squad will reportedly skip on the WESG tournament in favor of attending the ASUS ROG Masters event in Malaysia on November 12, 2016.
The WESG APAC SEA Finals is set in South Korea and is in a scheduling conflict with ASUS event.

In their announcement, Mineski’s management said that the team ultimately decided to play in ASUS ROG Masters because of WESG’s nationality-clause; to join WESG, teams most be composed of members of the same nationality as they represent their respective countries. Mineski’s current roster includes Singaporean Gavin Kang “Meracle” Jiang Wen.
“To be clear, we have decided to go with the ASUS ROG Masters in order to further hone our team chemistry, as the WESG’s nation-based roster limitations will force us to play without our core, Galvin Kang ‘Meracle’ Jian Wen.”
With the ASUS ROG Masters finale serving as likely the final LAN before the Boston Majors, teams are looking to devote their time in practicing with their core members to ensure that coordination is bred into their play.
At the recommendation of Mineski’s manager, Yamyam Yui, TNC – Pro Team will compete in the WESG APAC Finals instead. They will be joined by S1 Lykos, the only other team to register for WESG to represent the Philippines.
