Team Secret Releases Answer to EternalEnvy’s Accusations
In response to Jacky “EternalEnvy” Mao’s “expose” on Team Secret’s financial indiscretions that involve missed payments, opaque monetary splits and sponsorship woes, the player-owned organization answered with a short and relatively sterilized statement.
In its statement, Secret said that: “As a new team we’re determined to provide our players with the care and support that they deserve, whilst enabling them to share in the financial rewards from participating in some of the world’s largest tournaments and there’s obviously a cost in providing that support.”
Secret continued by saying:
“Any organisation that is growing at the rate which we are, will undoubtedly make some mistakes along the way, but it’s our intention to create a professional and structured environment that enables all our players and support staff to feel engaged and share in Team Secret’s success. We’re totally committed to nurturing and protecting our players in order to help them to be the best they can be. That’s what they deserve and it’s what our fans deserve too.”
FEATURED STORIES
No allusions nor financial specifics were given in the team’s statement. In EternalEnvy’s post, he said that Secret took out 10% of the player’s share in the prize winnings without consulting team members. Team members allegedly did not sign nor receive salaries during their tenure with the team.
In total, no direct references were made by Secret to address EternalEnvy’s allegations. On Twitter, captain and team-owner Clement “Puppey” Ivanov said that he will not engage in a word war.
I'm not getting into a war of words. Those that know me well know that I'm not that person described and (cont) https://t.co/RLH19K3RFI
