Get Ready for the IeSF 2017 Tekken 7 Qualifiers
If you missed our initial announcement for League of Legends and Counter-Strike, this year’s IeSF World Championship will be held in Korea from November 9 – 12.
But before that, we can’t forget about the hottest fighting game in the country right now, Tekken 7. Tekken has always been a popular title within the Fighting Game Community of the Philippines, and now one player will get the chance to represent the country on the world stage.
The winner won’t just be playing for the prestige and honor of representing the Philippines. The prize pool for Tekken 7 this year is a hefty 4 million Korean won (that’s $3,500 or P180,000)!
This is the first time since 2014 that Tekken has been featured in an IeSF event, and the last game in the series to feature was still Tekken Tag Tournament 2. As far as the Philippines goes, our best run was all the way back in 2012 when Alexander Lim, now known as PBE.Bully, made a deep 2nd round run into the tournament.
Now the opportunity is ripe for Tekken (and the Philippines) to make a major comeback.
