Valve announces release date for Artifact
Valve has announced a release date and a price point for its newest game, Artifact. The card game will be available to purchase at $19.99 on Steam starting November 28, 2018. The game will be first made available on PC, with mobile ports coming in the next year.
Fans will be treated to an early chance to play the game at PAX West 2018, which is happening on August 31 to September 3 in Seattle, Washington. Valve will be hosting a tournament where winners will be treated to Artifact merchandise and two keys for the game.
Unlike other major titles from Valve like Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2, Artifact will not be free to play. Interested players will have to shell out $19.99 for the game’s base model. You’ll be getting your money’s worth in the form of two pre-made decks with 54 cards each (5 heroes, 9 items, and 40 other cards) and 10 sealed card packs, each of which include 12 random cards, with one guaranteed rare card. Separate 12-card booster packs will cost you $2 a pop.
