Arcanys Wins MPGL Philippine Grand Finals 2014
For the first time in the history of the Mineski Pro Gaming League, a team from the Visayas and Mindanao area has clinched the title of “best in the country!”
Arcanys Gaming, a team comprised of players from Visayas and Mindanao, defeated team Click ‘N Search (CnS) in a Best-of-3 finals at the eSports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) event at the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia with a score of 2-1. This is their 2nd major title this year after been crowned as the champions of the Electronic Sports League (ESL) Philippines Dota 2 Grand Finals around a month before.
The roster who played in the MPGL Philippine Grand Finals is as follows:
Heinrich “Heinrich” Abad
Jun “Bok” Kanehara
Marvin Salvador “Boombacs” Rushton
Delbert “friedbutterflys” Cortez
Prince Vince “MightySavior” Enriquez
It is also important to note that they have been accompanied by their manager and Arcanys owner Alan Debonneville all the way to Manila as a sign of support for the players.
With these results, they will go to the GMPGL SEA Grand Finals, which will be held this Nov. 27-30, along with teams such as Execration and Click ‘N Search. They will have a chance to compete for the P1 million prize pool and face high-caliber SEA teams such as Rave and Invasion, among others.
Here is the prize pool for the MPGL Philippine Grand Finals 2014:
1st place: Arcanys (35,000 PHP)
2nd place: Click ‘N Search (20,000 PHP)
3rd place: Olympus Gods (10,000 PHP)
